Appropriate golfing attire is required while on the golf course and in all practice areas, and appropriate casual attire is required in the clubhouse at all times. Members and their guests are encouraged to consider common sense, modesty, and respect for tradition and other members when making attire decisions. Members are responsible for ensuring their invited guests are aware of and comply with dress code requirements.

The following clothing items are not permitted on the golf course, or any practice area:

  • denim pants, shorts, or shirts
  • sweatpants of any kind
  • athletic gym shorts
  • cargo shorts or pants
  • tank tops
  • t-shirts (short or long sleeve)

Golf club appropriate denim (not including overalls or painter pants) and shirts (not including denim work shirts) are permitted in all areas of the clubhouse except for the formal dining room; provided that they are properly sized, in excellent condition, and do not contain holes, rips, or frayed material.

Shoes with soles that do not damage the greens are allowed on the golf course and practice areas. Golf sandals are not permitted.
 

Additional considerations for men

Golf shorts must reach within 5 inches of the kneecap and not be ripped, frayed, or otherwise unsightly in appearance. Golf shirts must be in good condition, have collars, and be tucked in at all times anywhere on the Broadmoor Golf Club grounds, including in the clubhouse. Mock tees designed as golf apparel and turtlenecks are permitted but also must remain tucked in at all times. Caps must be worn bill forward at all times, and all hats must be removed when in the dining areas of the Club.
 

Additional considerations for women

Golf shorts and skirts must be mid-thigh or lower and not be ripped, frayed, or otherwise unsightly in appearance. Sleeveless tops shall have a collar; tops with sleeves do not require a collar.

From North or South Interstate 5

Take I-5 to WA-520 Eastbound via EXIT 168B (on the left if you are heading south on I-5, toward Bellevue/Kirkland). Take the Montlake Blvd. exit toward Univ. of Wash. (first exit off WA-520). Stay in the right lane to go forward (slight right) through the intersection onto Lake Washington Blvd. E. for about a half mile. Turn left onto E. Foster Island Road (E. Foster Island Rd. is 0.1 miles past E. Miller St., and if you reach Boyer Ave. E. you’ve gone about 0.4 miles too far). Take the second right off E. Foster Island Rd. at the Broadmoor residential guardhouse, a small brick building.

From Bellevue or the Eastside

Take WA-520 Westbound via EXIT 14 towards Seattle (toll bridge). Take the Montlake Blvd. exit towards University of WA/Lake Washington Blvd. Keep left at the fork in the ramp. Turn left onto Lake WA Blvd. E. Turn left turn onto E. Foster Island Rd. (E. Foster Island Rd. is 0.1 miles past E. Miller St., and if you reach Boyer Ave. E. you’ve gone about 0.4 miles too far). Take second right off E. Foster Island Rd. at the Broadmoor residential guardhouse, a small brick building.

Membership at Broadmoor Golf Club is by invitation only through the sponsorship of active members.
